ecova Productions is honored to have brought the story of “Bagaweet” to life — a powerful short documentary that celebrates heritage, language, and women’s empowerment in Egypt’s Red Sea region.

The film, named after the Red Sea dialect word for “women,” was produced in collaboration with AlexBank, the Drossos Foundation, and Thaat Social Enterprise. It highlights the strength, creativity, and culture of local women, shedding light on stories that are rarely told but deeply important.

Our team managed the full scope of production — from multi-day shoots in the Red Sea area to post-production editing — all while working closely with various stakeholders to ensure authenticity, sensitivity, and impact. We captured not just interviews and community work, but also the spirit of resilience and tradition that defines the “Bagaweet” name.

This documentary now serves as a vital tool in promoting social impact, cultural preservation, and women-led initiatives, reflecting the values of the organizations behind it.

At Recova Productions, we believe in storytelling with soul — and “Bagaweet” is a project we’re truly proud to have helped bring into the spotlight.
